Our Projects

Research that moves into practice to create lasting impact.

ACES is home to national initiatives and research projects tackling complex challenges facing older adults, caregivers, healthcare organizations, and communities.

The National Collaboratory to Address Elder Mistreatment and the National Dementia Care Collaborative bring together researchers, clinicians, practitioners, policymakers, community partners, and people with lived experience to develop, test, translate, and spread approaches that improve care, safety, and quality of life.

Our federally-funded research projects examine the identification of and response to elder mistreatment, including a particular focus on elder mistreatment among people living with dementia.

These projects began at EDC and continue at UMass Boston as foundational initiatives within ACES, providing a strong base for the Network’s growing program of research and action.

At UMass Boston, ACES brings together nationally recognized experts, implementation resources, educational opportunities, and collaborative learning focused on dementia care, caregiving, and elder safety.

Together, we will continue advancing practical, evidence-informed approaches that support older adults, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and organizations.
